Like a lone man setting off into rough seas in the dark, I find the mountains to be the archetype of the true hero's journey.
From the first time my dad took me hiking at five years old around the Red Rock Canyons, the mountains have become a large part of my identity. I have since begun my journey moving through the mountains; alpine climbing in the Sierra, ice climbing in Colorado, multi-pitch climbing in the Southwest, as well as trekking and backpacking throughout Nevada, California, and New Hampshire.

My message is that it is indeed possible to accomplish big things in the mountains despite working a demanding career. To make the mountains more accessible for everyone at all levels, despite their life circumstance.
